Cheers for 10 Years (Part 5)
So many albums to celebrate, so little time. With the year winding down, there is still so much ground to cover with incredible, impactful albums turning 10 years old. We’ve covered Paramore, The Jonas Brothers, All Time Low, and that’s not even half of it. These two albums I have for you are from artists I still love and have songs I’m able to list as some of my favorites of all time.

Lovesick Electric by Hot Chelle Rae
Release Date: October 23rd, 2009
My Favorite Songs: Bleed, Alright, Queen of the Scene
Before gaining major popularity with their single “I Like It Like That” in 2011, Hot Chelle Rae released Lovesick Electric. With this being their debut album, it set the tone for who Hot Chelle Rae would become. A electro dance pop rock band with a few heavy love ballads on the record. Some of their most notable songs like “I Like To Dance” and “Bleed” were made for this album. I remember bands in my area discovering Hot Chelle Rae and doing covers of them for their shows. Specifically a YouTube acoustic cover of “Bleed” comes to mind. Hot Chelle Rae was definitely a missed band, but luckily new music is only a few days away as they have recently announced “I Hate LA” will be available on November 8th!

This Is War by Thirty Seconds to Mars
Release Date: December 8th, 2009
My Favorite Songs: Kings and Queens, This Is War, Closer To The Edge
This album was huge when it came out. This was 30STM’s release after an extremely long and brutal battle with their label. This record represented finally being away free of their controlling label which attempted to sue the band. They also created the most experimental record of their career after working on it for two years. I haven’t had the chance to see 30STM yet, but I can only imagine how the butterflies in one’s stomach seeing them perform. Because even after 10 years, this album still gives me chills.
