Marianas Trench: Show Review
On Wednesday, we attended the Suspending Gravity tour featuring Marianas Trench, New Dialogue, and DJ George Thoms. It was a sold out show at a new venue, so we didn’t know what to expect.
We got there a little into DJ George Thoms’ set and it was PACKED. Even upstairs was lined with parents taking advantage of the minimal seating. Having a DJ as the opener was a surprising choice by Marianas Trench, but his set of emo remixes was a great idea. It was basically a small emo night before the show started!
Then New Dialogue came out. Best described as an anti-emo pop group, they came to show this new crowd their best stuff. With an entertaining stage presence and some jokes, they definitely got our seal of approval. Not to mention they covered the Killers, who WOULDN’T love that?
Finally, it was time for Marianas Trench. I’ve personally been following the band since their first US tour so I was extremely excited to hear some old favorites on top of their new hits. The crowd was obviously very excited and even more obviously, Marianas Trench put on an amazing performance. With an 18 song set list, they had a great mixture of old and new. The singer, Josh Ramsay, even jumped into the crowd for a few songs! Throughout the set, they had video montages of stories and messages of their newest album. The show overall was an amazing time and very nostalgic for me. Be sure to check out Marianas Trench on the reminder of the Suspending Gravity tour! They always put on such amazing and theatrical performances that you don’t want to miss.
